Why the waste factor matters
Tiles break. Cuts go wrong. Replacements crack 6 months later. The standard rule of thumb is 10% extra for straight layouts, 15% for diagonal or herringbone, and 20% for irregular rooms or natural stone where color matching matters.
How we estimate
Room area ÷ tile area = tiles needed. We add your waste percentage, round up, then divide by the tiles per box to give you the number of boxes to actually order.
