Why pattern repeat matters
With a patterned wallpaper, each strip has to line up with the one beside it. Every strip wastes up to one full pattern repeat at the top or bottom to align — so a 12-inch repeat can mean 10–15% more wallpaper than the raw wall area suggests.
How we calculate
We work out how many vertical strips fit across the wall, add a pattern repeat to each strip's usable length, and figure out how many of those strips you can cut from one roll. Then we round up.
