Ration Card Download Online: State-Wise Official Portals (2026)

Ration cards in India are issued by state governments under the National Food Security Act (NFSA), so the download portal is different in every state. This guide has the direct official links and step-by-step for the 12 largest states, plus the NFSA central portal for verification.

Universal step-by-step (works for most states)

1. Open your state's PDS portal (see list above) 2. Look for Ration Card Details / RC Report / Beneficiary Search 3. Enter your Ration Card Number OR District → Tehsil → Village → FPS shop 4. Verify OTP on the mobile linked to your card 5. Click Print / Download to save the PDF

Most portals also let you search by Aadhaar number if seeding is complete.

How to apply for a new ration card

1. Visit your state PDS portal → Apply New Ration Card (or nearest CSC) 2. Upload: Aadhaar of all family members, address proof, income proof, passport photo, gas connection details, bank passbook 3. Family head submits declaration; verification by local Food Inspector (7–30 days) 4. Once approved, download the e-ration card from the portal

Categories: AAY (Antyodaya, poorest), PHH / BPL (priority), APL / NPHH (above poverty).

One Nation One Ration Card (ONORC)

Under ONORC, your NFSA ration card works at any Fair Price Shop (FPS) in any state. Just take the physical card or Mera Ration app (https://mera-ration.in) and give biometric authentication at the ePoS device. Useful for migrant workers.

Is ration card free to download?

Can I download a ration card without a card number?

Yes — most state portals let you search by District → Block → Village → FPS or by Aadhaar number if seeding is done.

What is an e-ration card?

The digital PDF version of your ration card downloaded from the state PDS portal. It is accepted at Fair Price Shops alongside biometric authentication.

How to link Aadhaar to ration card?

Visit your FPS shop with Aadhaar of each family member, or use the state portal's 'Aadhaar Seeding' option. It's mandatory for continued NFSA benefits.

What if my ration card is not showing online?

It may be under verification, cancelled, or in an offline-only district. Call 1967 (state helpline) or visit your Taluk Supply Office with your card number.
